A 1969 favorite, Chicago Cubs Song (Hey, Hey! Holy Mackerel!) was written by Chicago musician Johnny Frigo, a jazz player and producer who was heard on Chicago radio for 23 years leading a band called the Sage Riders. The lyrics were written by I. C. Hoag, who remains obscure. Credited to the Len Dresslar Singers, “Hey, Hey! Holy Mackerel!” gets its title from the home run calls of Cubs broadcasters Jack Brickhouse and Vince Lloyd.

The Wrigley Field scoreboard and bleachers drawing is the creation of minimalist, self-taught, graphic artist S. Preston

The nationally recognized sports artist has his hugely popular series of all 30 MLB stadiums added into the permanent archives of the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY.

Right before the pandemic began, he signed licensing deals to produce art for Major League Baseball, the NBA, Marvel, Disney, DC and Star Wars. The attached drawing is one of his licensed pieces of art.
