"Hotel Yorba" is the lead single from the White Stripes album, White Blood Cells, released in November 2001. It was their first single to be commercially released. Jack White said that, as a child, he heard a rumor that the Beatles had stayed there — a rumor that, although false, he loved.
In order to get just the right feel for the song, the White Stripes recorded the single version in the 1926 built hotel. When it came time to make an accompanying music video, they were denied access, so the video was shot outside the building and the interior video was shot at another location. The single was reissued for Black Friday Record Store Day in 2012 on red vinyl by Third Man Records.
