This unique Chicago White Sox novelty record was a promotional giveaway during a home game in the 1985 season. The songs, “White Sox Gettin Down” and “Ol Comiskey Park” were written and performed by local Chicago musician, Wayne Mayfield.

Players from the team that year are name checked in the lyrics. Carlton Fisk, Ron Kittle, Harold Baines, Rudy Law, and even coach Charlie Lau.

According to the Jango website “Wayne Mayfield is a Chicago based songwriter / musician. Mayfield has often been the subject of FBI and Homeland Security investigations for writing songs with clean lyrics and good music. He was recently detained and interrogated by the CIA for refusing to write bad music but was released with no charges. While working on his latest album, he continues to draw suspicion from law enforcement.”
